South Yarra is two suburbs in one. West of Punt Road in the Domain Precinct, you’ve got grand freestanding homes, heritage terraces on Park Street and Leopold Street, and Art Deco apartment buildings along Alexandra Avenue and Darling Street. This is quiet, residential, established — families and long-term residents with driveways and front gardens. East of Punt Road around the station is a completely different story: dense apartment towers along Claremont Street and Chapel Street, a young renting population, and very little in-unit laundry space. About two-thirds of South Yarra residents rent, and the median age is 33. The apartment corridor between the station and Toorak Road is where most of our residential demand comes from, but we pick up from both sides.

Parking near Chapel Street and Toorak Road is a challenge — both streets carry trams with peak-hour clearways, and side street parking is heavily metered. The Domain Precinct west of Punt Road is much easier — wider streets, driveways, and less parking pressure. For apartment pickups around the station, newer towers like Capitol Grand have full-time concierge, and the building management can hold your laundry bag. Older walk-up apartments closer to Murphy Street and Wilson Street have intercom-only access — we buzz your apartment and come to the door. The heritage terraces in the Domain Precinct have straightforward front-door access. Two different councils cover South Yarra — City of Melbourne west of Punt Road, City of Stonnington east — which means different parking rules on different streets.
